A free public afternoon of Korean music and hands-on culture at Tacoma’s Asia Pacific Cultural Center.
SEOULIAN PERSPECTIVE
Make room for an unfamiliar afternoon
A community festival does not require the confidence of an expert. You can arrive curious, watch something for a while and decide what to explore next. Our suggestion is to keep the day lightly planned: leave space for one activity that was not on your original list. If you are coming with someone who knows Korean culture well, invite them to notice something new too.
PLANNING NOTES
Find the right festival date
Choose the Tacoma celebration on September 19, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Asia Pacific Cultural Center, 4851 South Tacoma Way. The organizer also lists a different celebration in Gig Harbor on September 26; that is not this venue or this date. Music and hands-on cultural activities appear in the organizer’s program. The International Examiner’s separate community calendar agrees on Tacoma’s date, hours and free admission. When sharing a plan, send the city and address with the date so friends do not head to the other celebration.
PLANNING NOTES
Visiting is different from performing
The organizer also has an application for a K-Song and Talent Showcase. That application is for prospective performers and includes a selection process; it is not a promise of a place on stage or a general visitor booking requirement. For an ordinary visit, start with the festival page. Admission is listed as free, but do not assume food or vendor purchases are included. Contact the center ahead of time for specific accessibility needs.
